spring break

The kids had spring break last week and boy did our family need a break. We took the kids to Ocean City MD and it was fun. We fit a lot into 3 days. We left monday am and headed over the Chesapeake bay bridge tunnel..we got out and walked around on one of the stops on the bridge. We headed over to Assateague to see the wild ponies, we saw a few and it had gotten pretty cold so we headed to the hotel. We checked into the hotel, got ready for dinner, and headed out for what we thought was Mexican. Well it was american mexican. We left there and went to play putt putt. Our hotel was right in fornt of the a big park and baseball field. we played there for awhile and the kids rode their scooters. From there we went back to the hotel and headed to the indoor pool and hot tub. Tuesday...beach day. We planned to go to the boardwalk and beach area. We had fun, rented a bike for 5 and rode it up and down the boardwalk for over an hour. We had a lot of fun. Stopped and shopped a but, played in the kite store and finally headed to the beach. We played in the sand, ate pizza on the beach and had fun. It was windy and the water was cold, but we didnt care. We left that afternoon and went to the hotel to go eat a good seafood dinner and swim again. The girls and their dad swam and grayson and i watched tv and packed for the next day. Wed we were up and out to Baltimore. We went to see charm city cakes..that was really cool. Olivia and I love that show. We then went to the childrens museum and the kids had a lot of fun. This was pretty much about them, but we needed to focus on them and we did. We went for a walk to the water and then ate dinner and headed home. A little long in the car, but a much needed fun time with the whole family!

I sit home alone for a couple of hours. Gray and daddy are at a friend of grays bday party. The girls are headed to see Taylor Swift in concert with Mimi and Pop....their favorite Christmas present ever!

I sit here and try to fold clothes, straighten up, I even tried to sit a look at a magazine...but it just doesnt seem right. I should be doing things to make me better, studying my Bible, exercising, or something. But no i sit here to write some thoughts (electronically).

A college friend passed away this week. Kylee was amazing, in every since of the word. Now when I first met her, I truly felt her never ending energy was weird. It just seemed unnatural for someone to be that energetic all the time. But she was....she was a great athlete (we played volleyball together), great student, and wonderful example of who and what a true woman of God looked like. Her energy and her spirit was from the Lord. Her love for the Lord led her in every motion.

I should try to be more like Kylee, not just her, but more of a Godly woman for my girls to see and follow. Now great, strong women are who have always been around me. My family is full of loud, strong, thoughtful , caring women! I am proud of those women who raised me to be who I am. Now after 33 yrs I need to refocus on how God is raising me. He is wanting to help me develop into this great woman of God, but am I allowing that. I used to be strong, no one could defeat me. But that i soon learned was not the truth. Well at least i needed to become stronger in some areas, and weak in others.

As I have ventured on in this life, but I am praying for strength to be a follower of Christ, not a leader of self.

Well yesterday my baby boy turned 4, he is almost out of preschool age. I can barely take it. He is so much fun, and full of love, laughter, and especially energy. Olivia turned 8 January 23rd. I can not believe we have made it this far. It does seem like just the other day, we lived in Florida and had our little sweet baby girl. Its hard to even remember what it was like with only one baby. Her and I had fun shopping, taking walks, we even took her to the movies when she was 6 wks old with Sally and Damion.

For her birthday this year, we decided to let her use her artist abilities and paint on pottery. It was soo much fun, the items the kids were able to paint we amazing. She did get a bit sad, because she is a perfectionist, and the items she picked was a bit difficult to paint and finish in a short amount of time. She finished with help, her friends and cousins made great art pieces, we had cupcakes, that we made and decorated together that morning.

She is amazing in every way, she has a bit of stubborness to her...but it makes her who she is. We have a hard time with her, but we are excited to see what God has planned for her. She is in his hands and we are only here for the ride. Love you to pieces my amazing 8 yr old :)

Granny came to visit the weekend before school started. The girls were very excited to spend this time with her and for her to help take them to their first day of school this year. They took a little while to get up, well just Olivia and Grayson. Eden has an internal alarm clock that wakes her at 630 am every morning. Whew ... better her than me. Here are some before school pics from Tuesday am. It was a rainy day all day, so we didn't get any pics going into their rooms. Olivia has to walk outside to her trailer and its a pretty good walk and we got really wet. I went after dropping them off to take Grayson to meet his preschool teachers. Granny go to meet them too and see his classroom. He will be there three days a week. So exciting!and sad :( all my babies are growing up.

We were able to get together while we were in Florida. Tammy, Dan and the kids came over from Sanford to hang out, eat dinner, and go for a late night swim in the pool.

Both of the girls grades were going to have picnics outside and games for their end of the year bash. Olivias was a few days before Edens and it was a nice hot day. Edens was during the rain, so she had hers inside. They rotated out of classes to play games, and have fun. Here are pics of both the girls and their friends.

It doesn't take much to make a 3 yr old boy happy at times. The other day his happiness was wrapped up in a blue ring pop. His very first ring pop. You can tell by his mouth, tongue, etc that he really enjoyed it! And the next time you are trying to make your 3 yr old happy, in the midst of continuous chaos, think ummm ring pop sounds good :)

The girls had field day at their school yesterday. Garr worked the soccer kick, and Grayson and I walked around, played games, and took pictures. We had a lot of fun. The girls are always singing something. They walk around with their little ipods and sing all the time. They love music. Garrett always has them listening to all different types of music. This morning they were playing with their guitars that already have some pop songs on it. SO they performed a song for me. I videoed it...i don't like the song, but they are cute. Even Grayson sang a few words.

Yesterday I went with Olivia's class to the super market. They have been studying economics at school, saving money, earning money, goods and services, etc. They all worked at home and earned money and they brought it in to class and they took it together to get food for their lunch and fruit for snack later. It was fun. They had a tour, scavenger hunt and found and bought food. After the store we headed to the park for lunch and to play before returning to school. She's in the video on the top right in the purple shirt.

Strawberry Farm

I was able to go with Edens class to the strawberry farm last week. It was a bit cold out and rainy, but it was soo much fun. It is my favorite field trip by far. The kids learn all about the farm, how things are planted, what grows, and then get to pick their own strawberries and taste fresh ice cream. Here are two picks from the day. Well I just wanted to say how lucky I am too have three amazing kids. Olivia is now 7 and although we bump head a lot on things, she is truly amazing. She is sooo intelligent, sometimes i wonder at what time will she truly outsmart me in every way. She realized this past week, through a lot of tears, hugs, and parents conversation that her behavior is inappropriate and her sassy attitude should be re-evaluated and when she is not able to control the things she says, that she needs to talk to God. That he is always there to help her and heal her. I asked her to pray for strength to help think and say things that are appropriate in Gods eyes to everyone. How was it sooo easy to explain to her, yet at times soo hard to realize myself. I often put my issues and problems on the back burner, not letting go and letting God.

Now for the middle one. She seriously says the most amazing things. She has got to be a writer when she grows up, because her storytelling skills are superb, even at 5. Mostly we would say, umm thats a lie.....yet i do believe that in her little head, she truly feels that it is not, but the most amazing thing anyone has ever said or done. She does get in trouble a lot, because she is a constant instigator with the little man. But when those sweet baby blues look your way, your heart will turn into mush. So we got an invite to a party for a little friend of ours. The party is on sat. I opened the invite from the mail..Eden was with me in the car. I said, hey we got invited to so and so's party. She says.... what time is the party? well for a 5 yr old, you would of thought that she had major plans and needed to check her calendar. I said why, she said just tell me the time. I said its from 2-4. She said oh good, I didnt want to miss my morning shows! I mean can you believe that. She is a trip. We dont have cable so sat am is their big disney show time.

Well the little man is last. Boy does he wear me out. He takes all that i have, and even more sometimes. But then he also says and does the sweetest things. He is talking soo much, but i love when he says lips...he gives me a kiss on the lips...his sweet smile, the little words only i understand. The way his hair waves around his face. He is so wonderful, I am soo thankful for him!

They are all blessings from God. I would not be whom I am, without them. I look forward to our future together and I am ready to see the amazing things they have ahead of them. I hope you experience them too!

Mother's Day 2009

It began on Saturday evening when my present arrived. They got me a digital frame for mother's day....i love it! It was something I really wanted. Mother's day was really nice this year. We had a lot of fun. We started the day out with breakfast and two services at church. After church we ate our packed lunches and changed for a day at Busch Gardens. I figured it would be entertaining for the kids, we already have passes, so no money spent there, and i wanted a funnel cake with Strawberries on it.

So we rode a few rides that we hadn't before or havent done in a while. It was a very busy day, but lots of fun! Here are a few pics of the day, the one of me with the kids, is realy bad of me but the kids always look cute!

Grayson sang Mary had a little lamb tonight. He knows all the words and sings it a lot, but only if I ask him to. Tonight he sang it the regular version. The second time he sang it. it was the monster truck song but in the tune of Mary had a little lamb. He just said Monster Truck...Monster truck, etc.

He is my little singer, yet he has to throw his own little twist on things.

Earth Day

Well today is earth day and we have been for a while trying to be more "green" we recycle pretty much everything that come into the house. We talk about it and look for thing that are made with recycled materials. We are not perfect but we are trying to do better for this place that God created and let us care for. Today we finger painted pictures for earth day. Grayson is not one who likes arts and crafts but he did try this. He is much more interested in monster trucks, trains, sports, etc. Here are pictures of grayson this morning painting. And the girls painted after they came home from school and after homework. They are all great pictures. :)

This will be the third time i have tried to write about these. The girls both got aprons and puffy paint in their Easter baskets. We wanted them to be creative and design them the way they wanted. Instead of trying to find ones already designed. They are wanting to help a lot more in the kitchen, so this was one way they could start helping, without messing up any of their clothes. And it was just fun. They both love to draw and enjoy art projects. Both girls drew out on paper what they wanted first before they began the paint. They asked for mom and dads help when they wanted it, but we just let them go and see what they could create. here are the artists at work.

Grayson and Bella Jane had a carnival party together at the gym of Mel and Shawns church. Grayson turned 3 in March and Bella turns 3 this week. So we tried to have the party in the middle of the two dates. We had two inflatables and lots of yummy food and cupcakes o coarse. The family came and also Bella Grace and Caroline. Grayson goes to preschool one morning a week this year. His class sang two song at their Easter program and a few more with the other two classes. During the Christmas program he wouldn't even go on the stage. So for this one he did go on stage and sing some of the songs and actually did a few hand movements. We only took one picture because the battery was dead.

Haley turned 9 and Isaac turned 7. They had a sleep over at the church. There were 25 boys and girls and a few adults spending the night. It wasn't too bad, except for hardly any sleep. Today is graysons birthday. I can not believe that he is 3 yrs old. It has gone by soo fast. I know everyone said that, but it really has. He is so sweet, and crazy all at the same time. We found him a jeep 4x4 for his birthday at the after christmas sale. It was only 40 dollars. He loves it. He also got a box in the mail from grandpa and grandma nonnie he was soo excited to open the box and see what was inside. he also had a monster truck bday cake (well I tried to make one, but it looked more like just a truck) He was sooo excited. After church we came home and the girls gave him their presents, we had chicken quesadillas and salsa with chips for lunch (graysons favorites) and then cake!

Our kids had two days off for snow last week and Haley and Isaac had three days off. So we went there to play at Grandpas house. Here are some photos of them playing together. It started snowing last night around bedtime and didnt stop until today in the afternoon. The kids didn't have school today and we bundled up and played outside. We lost power last night around 9:30 pm until 5 am this morning, and then this morning i made a big breakfast for everyone and after that the power went off again until 4 pm this afternoon. So we got a bit chilly the last two days. But we survived. It wasn't as bad as it could of been.

School Parade

Today the Kindergarten and First Graders had a parade with their favorite books. The K classes dressed up like a character from the book, the 1st graders made hats in art class.

Ski Trip!

Our Christmas present from my Larry was to go skiing with him, our family, and Melanie's family. We all but Eden got to go, because of her broken arm, this past Monday - Wednesday. We had a lot of fun. The weather was perfect and the kids did so well. It was there first time skiing.

We also go to go snow tubing and the little ones joined us for this. It was sooo much fun. Olivia did say skiing was her favorite part though.

We stayed at the resort in a town home style home. We had both the upper and lower level homes. They both had full kitchens and huge bath tubs.

Eden's new hair cut

Eden has only had three haircuts her whole 5 1/2 yrs. She is not much on haircuts, and has always had beautiful hair. Well lately it has been really hard to brush it and she wanted it to get cut. So we went to my hairdresser and here is her new do :) She loves it, it is a big change...but adorable.

So today Grayson went back to the Dr and his scabs were gone and he was clear of all meds and no more shots!!!!!!!! Yeah. Poor baby has had 3 IV's, mid line (bigger IV), at least 2-3 needle procks for either medication or labs everyday since his surgery. It was a rough two weeks and more, but we are so thankful that God has kept Grayson safe and Garrett and I sane through this whole ordeal. Eden also went to day for a checkup and her arm is still doing well. It hasn't changed positions and she has to keep her arm stabilizer on for three more weeks. She is allowed to do to school when she is up to it, and tomorrow she is going half a day to her school. I will take her in the am and Garrett will pick her up at lunch time. Olivia is a bit needy these days, and i really need to spend time with her. I hope that Wed we will be able to. She is in need of attention and we havent been able to really give enough to her. Its sad, and i hate it. But today is gone, but tomorrow is a new day. :)

When it rains....

It POURS!

Today started out as a decent day. Well after Garrett had been up all night getting sick, from food he ate for dinner. We went back to the hospital for Grayson normal blood draw and blood level check, then for his medicine. Well we were there from 8:30 am - 12:30, the lab was backed up. It was nice out so we grabbed something quick and went for a walk around the water. Here are some shots with mommy and daddy.

After we walked around there we headed for the mall. It was nap time and we figured we could catch a movie while he slept in the movies. SO we went to the mall, movie started in a hour, we walked around. We get a call from Garrs mom and Eden fell at the park and broker her arm.

We freak out, drive an hr home and to the hospital, get my sis to meet us there too. And she has a displaced fracture in her left arm right under her armpit, too high to set in a cast. She is in a sling and cries each time you even look at her arm. The doctor said she will heal nicely though!

Two down, and Olivia is not going with them! No more I can't take it!!!!

Gray had a vistitor

The Buddy Brigade came but the room today and visited with us. The dogs name is Scooter. he is a sweet mixed breed and very friendly. Grayson had already had dinner and was watching a video, when they stopped by. He visited and pet Scooter for a few minutes until he had to go. Here are two pictures.

He is acting better today, but he isn't drinking very much. He only drank a few sips for most of the day. They finally let him drink out of a straw only if we held the straw for him. After that he drank a little more.

The have a teaching program here too. So a young lady came and read him a story today. And tomorrow someone from the teaching program, she works with preschoolers and their development, will come and give him a test to check his development. I just wanted him to get a clear okay that he is not delayed in his speech too much because of his tonsils, adenoids, etc. They offer this as a free program too.

He was also able to go to the playroom they have here three different times today. He says "wanna go for walk" and he knows which way to go, and can push the hallway button to open the doors, and then know how to get back to our room. I have been out of this room more than him, and I still get turned around. Oh well.

Today Grayson finally had his surgery. We are sooo thankful that it went very well. His blood was controlled through medication. We are at the hospital and will be here for 3 days and then to the Ronald McDonald house for 7 days.

Gray is doing better, but his throat is very sore. He drank apple juice right when he woke up, but did not keep it down, The numbness is wearing off, so it is hurting more and more. The nurse just came in and gave him some pain medicine.

The worst part is that he has to monitored every 12 hrs for his blood levels, and that will tell us if and how much more Humate (blood meds) he needs. But the problem is, the 12 hr mark is at 11 pm, and he has to give blood, and then get the meds at 12 midnight. And then in the morning he has to have his blood levels checked again around 6 am. Not sure about all of this medical stuff, but 12-6 am is simple math (not 6hrs). anyway, we will keep talking the the nurse.

So Friday we spent all day, traumatizing my poor baby and then we didn't even have the surgery. He had a rash and we couldn't find out why. It is called Pitechae (maybe i spelled it wrong) it is when your blood cells raise to the surface. he was given meds and they said it could of been a reaction or just an infection and his platelets trying to fight that off. So back tomorrow to try again. Please pray that all will go smoothly. Thanks

Friday's Surgery

So tomorrow Garr, Gray and I will head to the children's hospital near here for his surgery. We have to be there at 7:45 am and his surgery is at 12:30. I am nervous, and i guess ready. My body and nerves know that something is going on and my emotions are not sure how to handle it. My house is a mess, and I can't seem to tackle it. I can't focus with a mess, but now I can't seem to clean it up. So I am living is a crazy circle.

Anyway, please pray that all his blood levels will be good, that the machine will be working properly (the older machine broke last night), it monitors how well his blood medicine is working with his body during the surgery. Pray for the doctors that they will have steady hands and that it all will run smoothly.

We will be in the hospital until next Monday and then we will stay at the Ronald McDonald house until the following Monday. That also mean that we will be away from the girls, with few visits for 10 days. Granny will be here and keeping them on schedule and probably spoiling them. Which they love!

Disney in January

The first day Garr and the girls were in FL we went to the inlet to look for shells. Eden stayed home with gpa, because she had a double ear infection and was very sick! Poor girl. Grayson loved the sand and the water. He was all over the place, nothing new for him but it was cute watching him.

Sat was Lee and Jenns wedding so there are pics from that. We got to spend a lot of time with the family, it makes us really realize how much we love Florida. We love it here too, torn between the two all the time! God has plans for us

So tonight we flew home from Florida. Gray and I have been there since Jan 9th, and Garrett and the girls have been there since last wed. I attended two weddings, hung out with friends and family, took the kids to Disney...had a great time! I will post pics on here as soon as i make it through Olivia's 7th birthday on Friday, Sat, and Monday. Yeah three celebrations...ughh. :)

New Year's Eve

We got a package from Florida today full of candy and cookies. Yummy! Grayson had just asked for a cookie at around 11 am, and then about 30 mins later the door bell rang and it was the box of goodies. I was like man, Grayson I need a new car! Oh well the only door bell came later when the neighbor girl brought our recycle bin back over it had blown in their yard. Very windy day, we stayed inside all day, it is pretty cold now. With the box, came bubble wrap. So the kids decided to dance on it. (don't mind the mess around them).

Unless you do mind, then you can come help me clean up, because as soon as one room is finished the other 5 or so are a mess again. ughh

DC for the day

My sister and her family and all of us headed up to Washington DC for the day yesterday. We had a great time. We wanted to see the Christmas decorations, Dorthy shoes, the monument, etc. The kids had fun riding the metro, Grayson thought that was the best part. We parked and rode about 25 mins each way. By the end of the day all of our feet were aching!

The girls both got a new bile. It was soo nice that they got to go out with out coats and ride their new bike. Olivia loves no training wheels.

Olivia's Piano Recital

Olivia has been playing piano for a little over a year. She was in her very first recital this year. She did amazing. She played two songs and did very well! We are very proud of her. This Friday, the 12th will be five yrs without mom. I sometimes haven't realized it until its that day or even later on in the day. But this year, I have been so focused on it. I do not know why, but I am very emotional about it. I know I should be, but it just seems even more so. I am missing her like crazy, needing her all the time, and just wanting my kids to know and be around her. I know these things are not possible now, but its still hard to deal with that. I want to sit beside her and talk, and make cookies and fudge with her. I loved when she made fudge. Olivia really wants to make some so I think that will be out project when school gets out.

I want to share things with the kids that I learned from her and by her, by doing them with the kids. I just want to slow down and enjoy them, so they will not regret me or the time i should of spent with them. I want to be with them, but until the money i don't have pays for a maid to do the laundry and cooking, cleaning, etc. Its me, and we will work through these together.

I encourage you, who may read this, to call your mom today. Give her a hug if you are close, or just tell her something that you appreciate about her. I would if I could, even though my main source of contact is my cell phone and she barely knew how to work hers when she was alive.

So we have been busy in the kitchen the last few days. Experimenting with making ornaments, baking for my Christmas party at work, making cookies for girls scouts (not sure, but we were asked to make them). Anyway. Today while taking a break from the kitchen and playing go fish with Olivia, the candy monster invaded my kitchen counter and well you take a look. He now has a very full belly of holiday candy, mostly mint Hershey kisses.

Surgery Update

Well we thought Grayson was having surgery on Dec 15th. He has to have is tonsils and adenoids out, because he has large tonsils, so large that he has sleep apnea. He also has a blood disorder call VonWillebrands type 2 B. Which is not very common. Because of the bleeding disorder his Blood specialist at the children's hospital here said he will have to stay in the hospital for 2-3 days after the surgery. After that we will go to stay at the Ronald McDonald house for the next 7 days. Total away from home 10 days. So besides the fact that we would of been gone from the girls too for 10 days, we would also be there during Christmas. SO we have changed the date and will not have the surgery until we return from Florida at the end of January. Here is a pic I took of us yesterday. We are very nervous, but confident with the Dr's here and their cautiousness.

SO the girls were supposed to be cleaning up the play room, but instead they were too fancy for cleaning and became movie stars. We took a few pictures then made them clean up anyway.

Saturday morning mom got to sleep in and daddy hung out with the kids. That afternoon daddy was hanging out with Grayson and the girls and i had movie night. We watched the American girl movie Kit Kitridge, we later had story time. I had to take a picture of them reading to each other and getting ready for bed. Isn't this a sweet picture.

The Great Wolfe Lodge

We had soo much fun friday night at the great wolfe lodge. We took the kids for a fun afternoon and evening. I walked for March of Dimes and in return we received free passes to go to the park. It was amazing. The kids were all over the place. We even got Olivia and Eden to ride a big water slide. You will see it in the pictures, its blue. The lst picture is of garrett and I, and we are almost ready to leave (we look beat), if you couldn't tell.

We had our family pics taken yesterday. We have a wonderful family at our church that we love and for Minister Appreciation Month they gave us a photo shoot. It was a lot of fun and we got a lot of great pictures from it. They have their own business and do a wonderful job. I wanted to share a few with you. If you get our Christmas card, then it is a preview for you :) Grayson did very well and the girls were a bit sleepy from a sleepover the night before. Eden had already gotten sick before the pictures, so unfortunately you will only see her pretty face, not smile. But Olivia had a beautiful smile for us.

All by ourselves

So the kids and I have been home alone since Sunday after bedtime. Garrett is off on a much needed vacation with his dad. They are surfing in Mexcio until next monday. So yes the four of us have been here.... and um yeah we are all still alive. I mean stick a 2yr old, 5 yr old, 6 yr old, and mommy all in one house with no separation except for the girls go to school. There have been plenty of others things going on too.... and man am i exhausted. We have had dr appt, dentist appts, small group, dinner every night at home (cooked by me), but nothing fabulous. Today i picked up the girls and decided before i left to get them that they deserved a little fun when they got home. I set the kitchen table with Edens new tea set, snacks, and put apple juice in the tea pot and in the refrigerator and then to school we went.

Today was also the first nap my son has taken in three days....uggh. But he was sleeping sooo nicely, and i still had to wake him up to go to school to pick the girls up.

When they came in the girls were very excited and so was Grayson. We all sat at the table and had our tea party. So here are some pictures:

Pumpkin Patch

We went to Pumpkinville on thursday. Garrett is leaving for a week, so we took the kids to get pumpkins. They have an area for playing games, a hay ride, corn maze, and you can either get a pumpkin they have already picked or go to the field and pick one.

Well we let the kids for the first time roam the field. It was crazy and a bit dirty, but they loved it! We pulled a wagon all over that field, grayson had to have a green-orange pumpkin. he basically thinks that is one work (orange-green). So we searched for one, and tried not to let him throw too many mini pumpkins that he came across.

Last weekend

Last weekend we went to a church near by and they had a fall festival. We all had a great time. Oli and Grayson rode a horse, they all jumped in the jumping castle. We played a couple games, ate these fried in front of us potato chip, with seasoning..yummy! Fun times, and the weather was great...

So tonight Grayson and Garrett are at a sleep study for Grayson. I can not even imagine how he is doing all hooked up to the machines. That is why i sent the boys together. Garrett just had one a month or so he knew what to expect.

The Princess had her party...

Eden had a lot of fun for her fifth birthday! She took cupcakes to share at school thursday, her granny came from florida, and we had her classmates, and cousins over for a dress up party.

The princess were soo much fun. They dressed up, took pictures in front of the castle, ate lunch fit for a queen, made princess crafts, heard a story "Princess and the Pea" and played a game with that. We also watched a little of Cinderella 3. Here are some pictures from the day.

She also had our family over later on in the afternoon to have cake and ice cream with them :) She had a very fun day! :)

Sleep Study

Grayson needs to go for a sleep study. His appointment was last week but it was canceled due to a sick tech. So he will have it next week. The sleep study is one more step to see if he truly needs to have the tonsil surgery. He has very large (touching) tonsils. The dr the other day told him he won the prize that day for the largest tonsils.

If he has to have the surgery he will have it at the childrens hospital an hr away and stay 2-3 days, to be monitored. He will have to have the special meds fro the bleeding disorder. We were also told that he can not have any meds except Tylenol and sudafed (forever!). The list he gave us to stay away from was two pages long, with two columns on each page.

So I will keep you updated on the sleep study, next tuesday night.

It's Pizza Time

Today Grayson and I made pizza. Well I have been cleaning all day trying to get ready for the party this weekend. Eden's Big 5th birthday:)

SO after cleaning, and putting together the play tent and video taping Gray get his pillows and blankets from his room (he took 3 trips). We put things away in the playroom and read a book about pizza. I got a couple of book kits from the Library.

We sat down and read a book about a boy and his dads pizza restaurant. The we went in the kitchen to make pizza for lunch for mommy, daddy, and grayson. We had leftovers for the girls tonight too.

Grayson felt like a big boy helping in the kitchen. Almost everything was pre-packaged from the store, but we did add some cut up basil from the herb pot on the deck. When the pizza was finished it was about 45 mins later than his usual lunch and nap, so he was very tired and fell right to sleep

Last Week

Last week Grayson and i had some fun while the girls were at school. I got out his magic wonders finger paints and let him play. I showed him one of his favorite books about moons and dolphins. I asked him to make a moon. He loves to look at the moon at night.

So here are a few pictures of my son the artist. He would love to sit and watch TV all day, so i have tried to do a few things during our mornings together. We are busy around here (like everyone else), but Tuesdays I will only have a couple of hrs before i go to work. I really need to get motivated about exercising. The gym is calling my name. Well maybe its just yelling at me to get my fat butt over there and get some exercise. Please encourage me about your workout routines?

SO here they are. The pictures are from last year. The dread man and boy are from Eden's 4th birthday so they are almost a year old.

Grayson is sitting on my stepdads Harley. He loves motorcycles. Every time he sees one he says motorcycle vroom vroom vroom. Every single time. I am not sure if he thinks that its the name or what. But its really cute.

So tomorrow we go for his check up at the children's hospital here. He has a blood disorder that my mom had and they are deciding if she have the needed surgery of tonsils, adenoids, tubes, etc. With this disorder he should not have any unnecessary surgeries, but technically i think he needs it. He has sleep apnea and has slept through the night only about 10x since he was born. Yeah and that's getting old. We are also meeting with his hematologist to get the full info on his disorder. Its complicated, but hopefully we will better understand it tomorrow.

Bedtime sadness

Garrett is gone till tomorrow, so tonight it was bedtime routine all on my own. The girls did very well, Oli is always the straggler. It takes her so much longer to fall asleep. Eden is usually asleep before we leave the room. Olivia will read for almost an hour before falling asleep. Well tonight she came out to me (we have just earned 20 nights of not getting out of bed once tucked in) and i was trying to have mommy time and watch a show on tv, that i had been waiting for. I tell her goodnight and kiss her again and send her on her way.

Well last week two days in a row Olivia told me as we walked in to school that she did not like going to school because that meant she was away from me all day! Tear, tear. I know the saddest thing ever...so today again the story. I told her that i love to spend time with her, and we had this weekend. But that today was school. She often has these sayings for us when she needs to direct all focus back to her, like after getting in trouble, etc.

Okay back to tonight. She begins her angry walk back to her room and says i dont want to be with her, and i like the show more than her. Okay....so tv went immediately to commercial and i walk to her room. we have a chat, i lay on her bed, i kiss her and tell her that friday we will do something together after school just her and i .She agrees and i put a cd on for her. It is called Olivia. My mom bought it for her and one for eden for Christmas 2003. Olivia said where did we get it and i told her Grammy bought it for her. She said well where, i said i dont know. I told her that it was a secret between her and Grammy. She said well maybe grayson wants one. I said well, grammy didnt know Grayson.

We blew kisses and off i was. As i watched my show on tv, it was sad, and about death, i cried. I am not much of a crier these days, but i really cried. I laid on the couch with grayson in my arms (now snoring) and watched the show where they buried someone they loved, and the little boy tried to say goodbye.

My tears come from and for my children who never said goodbye, for myself and my sister and all who loved my mom who never said goodbye. this dec it will be 5 yrs since my mom died, and sometimes it feels like 10 yrs ago, others it feels like yesterday. I hate that grayson and bella will never be held by mom, and kissed goodnight. I have how eden was robbed on only having her for 2 1/2 mths. I hate how she was ripped from haley, olivia, and isaac... and how they have a hard time remembering her, even though she spent so much time with them! SO much, never.... never enough.

I am sad tonight because i had to tell my baby girl that you know this earth, this life sometimes sucks. And we will get mad, and cry, and be sad, and loose people who we love dearly. But that is this life! it will not hold me down, it will not defeat me... i know and love a God who is preparing a place for me and my babies, so that we will one day never feel this pain again.

Cry again, sure... laugh again, yeah i do all the time. Understand the last 5 yrs....never. My life has not been the same since that day in Florida when after (no sleep driving all night from VA) the love of my life, and the best Granny my three kids will ever know....told me that my mom was gone! But one day..... we will never have to share news like that again. We will be home, and sad no more.

Sorry for the long post, if you made it this far....hope it wasnt too crazy or confusing. Gotta kiss all those sleepy heads one more time before I go to bed :)

kids and their happenings

Well the other day Eden had a new "Eden claim". I would like to call them something, i just haven't thought of a good one yet. She came home from school and wanted to eat her snack. She usually eats snack at school, but it was a birthday and they had cupcakes. So after coming home, she realizes she still has snack in her lunchbox and decides to eat it. She sits at the table opens up the container filled with raising, goldfish, and mini marshmallows. She later comes into the living room where Garrett and i are sitting and says my head hurts. We said really, she said, "raisins make my head hurt!" She said i eat them in the car sometimes and it makes my head hurt.

She says funny things all the time, i like to share them when its a really good one.

Today i took Olivia and Eden to school. Eden likes us to walk them in, she is still transitioning into Kindergarten. So we are walking in and i tell Eden its going to be an easy drop off (yesterday she had a melt down when Garrett took her). Olivia leaned over and hugged me real tight and said, " I don't like going to school all day, because i miss being with you". I know said and sweet. But i was kind of laughing because she was too sweet, usually shes not like that, she was helping to overcompensate from yesterday. Anyway i loved hearing it, it was sad and i am glad that i wasn't already weepy that day or i would have lost it!

So the little man today was too cute. I ran all over town today getting groceries, while he stayed home with daddy. they went for a bike ride and played. I came home and played with gray and then we straightened up the playroom. I was trying to figure out what he wanted for lunch (after he had an snack of choc donut, also from being the only one at home during the day). I said hey you smell like choc. SO what do you want for lunch, he said " ice cream, chocolate". I was like what,no we don't eat ice cream for lunch.

So my kids are funny, amazing, loving, crazy, and of coarse having the cutest laughs you have ever heard!

The Letter B

Today the girls put on their new sundresses from granny and got ready for another day at school. They both looked so cute i took pics for granny to see!

Grayson and i walked them in to school and then headed to the grocery store. I told him on the way there, that we were going. I told him we needed to get Milk, he said "ice cream". then smiled realllll big!

So yes we did get ice cream, and he earned it after his lunch and preschool time. I have been trying to something with him every morning, it doesn't matter how small. If not he will want to watch dora and boos cues all day. (well and nap for 2- 3 hrs too). So today we talked about the letter B. I cut it out of scrap cardboard. he painted it Blue, we talked about the letter N, its sound, words that start with B. Blue, ball, blues clues, baby, etc. After painting i made his lunch and he had a Banana too. He did eat some ice cream after all of this and we read a book about babies before bedtime (nap). Also there is a picture of my lunch (wrap w/ chicken, Cheddar cheese, carrots, cream cheese and spinach souffle) his was cheese quesadilla, banana, and raisins with apple juice to drink. He wanted to taste mine, but then decided very quickly he did not like it!

After the girls first full day of school we took them to get ice cream at cold stone. We haven't been there in soo long. I don't think Grayson has ever been there. We had fun, he just wanted to eat his gummy bears and not any of the ice cream. Olivia wanted to eat hers and everyone else's. Eden enjoyed some of hers, she not a big ice cream eater... but she thinks she is.

We came home and went for a quick walk around the neighborhood. Eden, Gray, and I began walking and Olivia ran up to us a few minutes later. After we walked down the rode, we were heading back home and here comes daddy on the long-board. All of the kids were excited and took turn riding it. They fought over who got to ride it next.

Olivia also captured a picture of us, yeah i am not real thrilled looking in the picture, but she is still learning about all the right buttons and when to hold them and release. So your smile face, is usually gone before the picture is take. Oh well.

Gray's first day home along with mommy

So today we all woke up and took the girls to school for their very first day. We came home and had to drag the little man inside because he wanted to stay outside and play. We came in did a few things and then changed our clothes and went outside. Daddy left and went to work and Gray and i went for a walk. A nature hike (walk). Our neighborhood backs up to retreat center and we are allowed to visit there whenever we want. We often walk to their playground for a change and just to have somewhere to go, without driving. Their playground is small but the kids love it. So Gray and i saw a lot of leaves on the trees and picked on large one and one small one to bring home.

As we walked we discussed ALL of the mail boxes down the rode, their color, etc. We walked in the rocks (kicking our shoes and making dust), and listened to the birds and other things we could here.

When we got home we discussed the leaves. Color, sizes, bigger - smaller, pointy - rounded, etc. We also worked shading with our crayons and paper. Mommy did most of the work, but he enjoyed watching and the finished project. We took pictures of the leaves to show you.

1st day of K and 1st grade

Eden is a big Kindergartner and Olivia is no in 1st grade. They did a great job going to school and getting ready. It is only a half day today so it should be pretty easy. Here are a few shots of the family and of coarse the little man who is home free. No tears for mommy today, hopefully none tomorrow either. But not tears for and kids either all smiles.

Swing Set

We found a swing set on Craig's list for free. Garrett and some friends had to drive an hour or so to the beach to get it, but it was worth it. The kids love it. Olivia doesn't look very excited but she pouting here in the picture. It is two yrs old and got a bit dirty. No one played on it for a yr, so we are cleaning it still. We wanted to get a new one, but who has that kind of money, they are soooo expensive. :)

I also put pictures up pf my tomato plant, They have done well, we lost a few in a storm, but there are about 5 that are almost ready now, and still more flowers on it. Next yr i might buy more just to have enough to have each week. We also have an herb pot that has basil, sage, rosemary, etc that we use a lot when cooking. I love it!

This summer we have been able to have passes for all of us, and have taken a few trips. The kids have a great time, and we wish we could of rode more roller coasters...but taking the kids is better than them getting older and not wanting us to go at all with them! Enjoy...

I havent been on here much because i had hand sugery for carpul tunnel last wed and i am still not better yet. I wanted to post some of the pics, it was a fun night. The kids loved it, but Garrett was really having a good time....he was sooo sweaty when we left. Mommy watched more than she bowled. It was right before my surgery and my hand really hurt to hold the bowling bowl.

My sweet sweet Eden will be attending Kindergarten in two weeks. And my stomach is aching about it. She will go at 4 yrs old, and turn 5 at the end of sept. She seems to feel fine about it. She is my baby girl, who just started talking out loud to others recently. She has come out of her shell lately, which is good, but I am still nervous for her. She is still very timid! She has recently been coming up with the craziest stories. She tells us stuff all the time that only make sense to her, but she truly believes it. Garrett and I just laugh (silently).
Her new one the other day was " I think my birthmark keeps me warmer". Okay so Olivia is always cold, yeah shes a florida girl, and is always cold, anytime anywhere. Eden is my child and is hardly ever cold, unless its snowing! So olivia shouts from the back seat the other day im COLD!!!! Which means in Olivia language, could you please turn down the air. Eden replies with im not, and her thought about her birthmark. She has just recently figured out what it even was, she thought maybe dirt. It is a small area near on of her ankles that is slightly browner than the rest of her foot. So if you think you may be slightly warmer than your neighbor beside you, maybe its your birthmark!

Gotta love that girl! :)

OBX a day at the beach

One the way home we went to the beach and had a great time. We packed out lunch, played in the sand, jumped waves, and Garrett and some of the kids rode waves on the boogie board. It was a lot of fun, but the waves were huge. There was a hill right before the edge of the water so we were up a bit so the kids played on the sand hill a lot. I went in the water for a few minutes, but got knocked down so much i was over it.

Eden was a little sand crab, before daddy took her out on the boogie board, she loved it!

The Hatteras Lighthouse

The last time Olivia, Haley, and Isaac were at the Hatteras lighthouse was when a Olivia and Isaac were just learning to sit up and still eating baby food. The also ate a lot of sand that day. It was before the lighthouse was moved. We went to see it today but did not walk up it, the kids kept saying they wanted to, but we knew they wouldn't make it.

Ocracoke in the rain

Here they all are walking in front of me. We decided to walk to the Pirate store instead of drive, because it is very small there and a lot of people were driving around.

So on wed it rained on and off all day. We rode the ferry from Frisco to Ocracoke Island. It was fun, we ate ice cream, walked to the pirate store. So here are pics of us in the rain and of all of my pirates.

OBX Camping

SO we went camping in Frisco, NC last week for a couple of nights. It was a lot of fun. Our family stayed in one tent and my sister's family and step dad stayed in the cabin right beside us. The cabins are small, they only have beds and AC, yeah it was nice. But we had to walk to the bathhouse. And with kids, that was quite often. Everyone had a great time. The first night we roasted hot dogs, and had smores, with April and her friend Jenny. I will add pics from the other days in diff posts. Just too many to have in one post. Enjoy!
